Deandre Ayton is currently considered as the favorite to be selected first in the 2018 NBA Draft, having gained more ground recently over the other potential #1 pick: Slovenian point forward Luka Doncic.
The former Arizona Wildcats center actually expressed his certainty that the Phoenix Suns, that own the No. 1 pick, will land him in the Draft.
“No one else,” Ayton mentioned during his Suns‘ draft workout interview when he was asked if he’ll be working out for other teams. “I know I’m going number one”
On working out for other teams: “No one else… I know I’m going number one.”

I want to be the best two-way player coming into the league,” Ayton also said.
Ayton’s ties with Arizona go back to 2015 since he played high school in Phoenix before joining the Wildcats. He’s projected as the No. 1 pick in mock Drafts by ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and Bleacher Report. He has lived in Arizona since 2015.
