According to the local newspaper “Kauno Diena”, Zalgiris Kaunas coach Sarunas Jasikevicius said about the interest of the Toronto Raptors on him: “It’s a pleasure to talk with people from a different environment. I am glad they’re interested, but it’s difficult to say anything else. It was a pleasure to be part of the process and we will see where this will bring us”.
What was really surprising for Jasikevicius was how fast everything happened: ” Just so much so that I was the last one to know that they were interested in me. I initially received the information and only later I received the call. I was really surprised, I didn’t expect everything to be so fast”.
Jasikevicius was asked about the meeting with the Toronto GM Masai Ujiri, but he didn’t reveal any details: “I do not want to say much, because I want to focus on the Lithuanian league finals. It is important to concentrate on the affairs of Zalgiris only. You need to understand that this is happening very quickly”.
