Dwane Casey has an agreement on a 5-year deal with the Detroit Pistons to become the team’s next head coach according to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The former Toronto Raptors head coach succeeds Stan Van Gundy who was released from the Pistons following the completion of the regular season.

Casey was chosen as Coach of the Year for 2017-2018 by NBCA (National Basketball Coaches Association). He was fired by the Raptors the same day.

During his stint with Toronto, Casey led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals Finals for the first time in the history of the franchise, back in 2016.
