Paul Zipser becomes a free agent.

The Chicago Bulls announced that they released German forward Paul Zipser, Saturday (14/7). The team was expected to waive Zipser in order to create the cap space room needed to sign forward Jabari Parker with a reported $20M annual salary.

Zipser is thus a free agent and returning to Europe automatically becomes a possibility for him. Earlier this summer, the 24-year-old player has said that he’d have “no problem” returning to Europe. Also, Bayern Munich GM Marko Pesic has already mentioned that the club wouldn’t say no to Zipser returning to the Bavarians, the team with which the player spent three years before signing with the Bulls in 2016.

Bayern could be an option for Zipser not only due to the familiarity between the two sides but also because the reigning German League champions are EuroLeague bound for the next three years.

In two seasons with the Bulls, Zipser posted 4.7 points and 2.6 rebounds on an average of 17 minutes per game in 98 matches.
