Serbian forward Nemanja Bjelica and the Sacramento Kings have agreed to a $20.5 million three-year deal, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. The third year of the contract is non-guaranteed.

Although Bjelica was supposed to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, he wasn’t pleased with the mid-level exception one-year deal and reconsidered his options with going back to Europe being one of them.

While weighing his possible destinations, it seems the talk with the Kings GM and Serbian legend Vlade Divac decided the outcome of Bjelica’s free agency: “I spent a lot of time talking with Vlade and as an icon in our country, he has a unique perspective on what it takes to put yourself in a successful NBA situation and what it takes as a player to perform in that situation. The organization’s belief in and commitment to me overwhelmed me and my family. I am ready to do everything I can to help the Kings and be a part of the Sacramento community.”, Bjelica told Yahoo Sports.

The 30-year-old averaged 6.8 points on 41.5 percent 3-point shooting in 67 games he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.
