The Capital City Go-Go, the Washington Wizards’ G League affiliate, has named Pops Mensah-Bonsu as the team’s general manager and Jarell Christian as the team’s head coach.

“We are very excited for the upcoming inaugural season for the Go-Go and are very pleased to have Pops and Jarell heading up the team’s basketball operations,” said Wizards‘ GM Ernie Grunfeld. “They come to us with outstanding experience and we’re confident that they will lead our efforts to develop both players and staff while establishing a presence in the Southeast D.C. community”

Mensah-Bonsu comes to Capital City with over 10 years of basketball experience as a player and scout, spending the last two seasons as a pro personnel scout with the San Antonio Spurs.

His career started with the Dallas Mavericks back in the 2006-07 season and he also played in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Russia, France, Israel and Greece, ending his playing days with AEK back in the 2014-15 season.

In his most successful season as a member of Besiktas, he had won the Turkish League, the Turkish Cup and also the EuroChallenge.
