After suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee and being forced to sit out the whole year last season, Daniel Theis is working his way back to the courts, as his recovery continues.

As the regular season approaches, the German international wants to be back by the start of it. “I’m getting there,” Theis told NBC Sports Boston. “I’ve been back two weeks. I’ve been doing new stuff every day. I’m just happy to be back on the basketball court. I’ve been working out the whole summer, lifting in the weight room when I wasn’t back home.”

As for his goal, Theis wants to be back by the start of the training camp: “My main goal is to be ready for training camp.”

Before suffering this season-ending injury last year, the 26-year old was averaging 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest, having an essential role in Brad Stevens’ bench.
