Darius Songaila takes a new step in his coaching career by joining the Spurs in the player development coach position, as he announced on his social media.
Songaila served as an assistant coach next to Sarunas Jasikevicius in Zalgiris, while he’s set to return to a well-known territory for him after his eight-year tenure as a player in the NBA.
40-year-old Songaila retired back in 2015, ending his career with a bronze medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics, a gold at the 2003 EuroBasket, as well as a bronze at the 2007 EuroBasket, along with several championship titles with Zalgiris and CSKA Moscow.
