Nikola Jokic was fined for using derogatory and offensive language

Nikola Jokic was fined by the NBA for a comment he made on a live television following the victory of the Denver Nuggets over the Chicago Bulls on October 31.

While talking about Wendell Carter JR’s wingspan (7 ft. 5 in.), Jokic said: “No homo, but he’s longer than you expect.” This comment brought him a fine of $25.000.

Per NBA:

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has been fined $25,000 for using derogatory and offensive language, it was announced today by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

Jokic made his comments to the media during a postgame interview following the Nuggets’ 108-107 overtime win over the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 31 at United Center.
