He didn’t get on the court on Sunday, but Enes Kanter got as close as it gets.

The New York Knicks fans love Enes Kanter and proved it again on Sunday. During the second quarter of the home game against the Memphis Grizzlies, David Fizdale called for Dennis Smith Jr. to check into the game, but 26-year-old Kanter heard his first name not Dennis. He pumped up getting ready to enter the NBA Regular Season match only to return to the bench.

He was a good sport and responded laughing on the humorous misunderstanding, but the dispirited reaction from the crowd was another story. The fans never got to see Kanter and ultimately witnessed one more 2018-19 home loss. The player himself could only wish for a new situation via trade knowing the Madison Square Garden crowd got his back.
