One day after the reports about Charlotte and just minutes after the trade of fellow Spaniard Nikola Mirotic to the Bucks, Marc Gasol will continue his career with the Toronto Raptors, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Toronto is planning to send Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Milles and a 2024 second-round pick to the Grizzlies for Gasol.

There were earlier reports about a deal that also included point guard Mike Conley and Kyle Lowry, however, this time around everything is centered around the Spanish big man.

It was a well-known fact that Memphis decided to rebuild and since last summer, Gasol was preparing himself for the scenario of being traded. As he said: “My conflict is between my desire to win and my loyalty to Memphis”.

As a member of the Raptors, he becomes part of a contender and he will also play alongside his teammate in the Spanish national team, Serge Ibaka. The national team coach Sergio Scariolo is also part of Toronto’s coaching staff.

The 34-year-old Gasol is averaging 15.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and a career-high 4.7 assists this season — which ranks second among league centers, trailing only Nikola Jokic (7.7).
