Maxi Kleber talked to Eurohoops about the German NT and its success through the past World Cup Qualifiers windows, despite lacking many of its stars: “I think we don’t have to set limits for ourselves. We have a lot of great players and depth. That’s why we were surprised when not everybody could compete because of the NBA and EuroLeague, we still had a great roster. Our coach did an excellent job of putting everything together. I think the most important part for us is to get as much practice and game time together as we can. We need everybody back. Dennis [Schroder] draws so much attention and makes the game easy for everybody”.
Kleber also commented on Mavericks‘ great Europeans’ combo, including Dirk Nowitzki, Luka Doncic, and recently Kristaps Porzingis: “We have a lot of great players. Dirk, of course, KP [Kristaps Porzingis], Luka [Doncic], for the future. They make it hard for everybody to defend them. The Mavs can build a great team around them”.
