Behind an MVP performance by Kyle Kuzma, Team USA prevailed in the Rising Stars game which opened the NBA All-Star Weekend.

Kyle Kuzma scored 14 of his game-high 35 points in the first quarter to take Team USA to a 40-30 lead it never would relinquish in a 161-144 victory.

While Team World managed to nearly get all the way back in front on multiple occasions, Luka Doncic and company never for the lead.

Ben Simmons led Team World with 28 points and six assists, while Slovenian Luka Doncic finished the game with 13 points and nine assists.

Finnish big man Lauri Markkanen also added 21 points and was a starter, like Serb Bogdan Bogdanovic who scored 15 points.

Turk Cedi Osman came from the bench and had two points and four assists, while Latvian Rodion Kurucs had 10 points and five assists.
