Mike Conley sat down with Eurohoops to talk about Luka Doncic’s rise in the NBA, how much Marc Gasol got him invested into the EuroLeague and European basketball. The 31-year-old American point guard also sent his message to his former teammate at the Memphis Grizzlies, Nick Calathes.

“Marc Gasol was my teammate for so many years. He’s always on his computer watching games overseas” Conley mentioned and added: “I follow Barcelona. Olympiacos has some players I’ve played with. Nick Calathes is also in Greece with Panathinaikos”.

He was happy to send his message to Calathes ahead of Panathinaikos OPAP Greek Cup Final against PAOK. “Do your thing. You’re the man. I’m watching and hopefully you win the championship” he said.

On Doncic, Conley remembered watching him play with Real Madrid and pointed out: “He seems like he’s better in the NBA then he was when I watched him overseas. And overseas he was unbelievable”.
