Business as usual for Sabonis with another double-double while Markkanen was clutch from the line for Chicago.

Lauri Markkanen hit the game-winning free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining after being fouled on 3-point attempt, to hand the Chicago Bull an110 – 109 away win over Orlando Magic. The Finish forward had 25 points overall, plus 11 rebounds.

The Magic European duo of Evan Fournier (22 points, five assists) and Nikola Vucevic (19 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists) delivered but the Magic didn’t get a victory in the return to action after the All-Star break.

In the home city of the All-Star weekend, Nicolas Batum scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help the Charlotte Hornets beat the Washington Wizards 123 – 110.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, Marc Gasol didn’t face his brother Pau since the latter was DNP in the clash between the Raptors and the San Antonio Spurs. Toronto got the 120 – 118 in DeMar DeRozan’s return to the city as an opponent.

Danilo Gallinari led the L.A. Clippers past the Memphis Grizzlies 112 – 106 by scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Joakim Noah registered his third double-double, finishing with 22 points plus 11 boards.

Rudy Gobert had a powerful performance of 26 points and 16 rebounds along with three blocks but saw Paul George scoring the game-winning bucket in front of him as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Utah Jazz 148 – 147 in overtime. George finished with 45 points in another statement display for his MVP contention this season.
