The Chicago Bulls overpowered the Boston Celtics on Saturday behind Zach LaVine’s and Lauri Markkanen’s huge performances. Both scored career-highs with 42 and 35 points respectively to become the first Bulls since 1996 with 35 or more points in a single NBA Regular Season game. The last ones were Michael Jordan and Scottie Pipen with 37 points each against the Phoenix Suns on the road on November 20th of 1996.

“It’s pretty cool” the 21-year-old Finn forward said when he was informed on this achievement. He made 12/20 shots from the field on Saturday extending his 20-point scoring performances streak in nine February matches. “Being confident, knowing what to do and being aggressive” Markkanen mentioned commenting on his hot streak.

He also grabbed 15 rebounds and added two assists and one steal in 37 minutes. Talking about his team’s win against the Celtics he pointed out: “We did whatever we needed to do personally to get ready to play the game. Guys were ready today”.
