The Los Angeles Clippers head coach, Doc Rivers called a timeout and asked the Staples Center crowd to give Dirk Nowitzki a standing ovation on Monday. Luka Doncic and Danilo Gallinari were privileged enough to witness the moment and later on answered some questions from Eurohoops about the 40-year-old forward.

Doncic, 19, said on his Dallas Mavericks teammate’s standing ovation: “He deserves even more. He’s been amazing throughout his career. I’m very happy he got an ovation like that”.

Gallinari, 30, faced Nowitzki for the last time and added: “It was an amazing moment. At the same time it was sad, because it was the last time we played against him”.

The Italian forward followed up pointing out: “We grew up watching him and then coming here everybody was trying to be like him”.
