Kristaps Porzingis feels that the time to discuss why he wanted out of the New York Knicks hasn’t come yet.

It has been more than a month since Kristaps Porzingis was traded from the New York Knicks to the Dallas Mavericks. For the Latvian big guy, it’s still too early to talk about what happened with the Knicks and elaborate on the reasons that led to the trade.

“I had a very good experience in the city, but I still find it difficult to talk about the Knicks,” Porzingis said in an interview to NBA Spain. “Everything happened a short time ago. In the summer, when things settle down, I’ll talk more extensively about that.”

Porzingis hadn’t seen any action since he suffered a torn ACL injury almost a year ago in a game between the Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks. And right now, he feels ready to return to courts.

“I feel perfect. I really want to go come back, but I also have to be patient and wait for the right moment. I still don’t have answers from the coach if I’m going to return this season. I talk about many topics with him, not only about my return to the courts. I continue with the recovery work. I am very happy with the physical improvement. The other day I was looking at some pictures on my phone, checking how many hours of work we have dedicated. When I return, everything will be very exciting for me.”
