After the “Slovenian duel” in Miami, Dirk Nowitzki explained why the NBA game has changed and it’s more “European” than ever

Slovenian fans made a splash in Miami and while the duo of Goran Dragic and Luka Doncic were on the spotlights, the elder gentleman of the Dallas Mavericks who also happens to be the European GOAT talked about the changes of the NBA, which made it more European friendly.

When asked on the matter, Dirk Nowitzki was quite clear: “The league changed from 20 years ago. With the foul calls and they put the zone in. It’s more of a pick-and-roll league and a moving-the-ball league. it’s a more wide-open floor and that plays right into the Europeans’ hands. They got skills, they can shoot and move and bring the ball up and so it’s been fun to watch“.

Here are the full quotes of the German icon on the matter, the Dragic-Doncic duel and his meeting on the court with Dwayne Wade.
