Lithuanian upstart Deividas Sirvydis took appropriate actions to make himself available in the upcoming NBA draft. “It has always been my dream to play in the NBA, and as such, I am thrilled to be declaring for the NBA draft” the 18-year-old Lithuanian guard said to ESPN and added: “That being said, my sole focus remains on finishing my season with Rytas, which I am hopeful will end by winning the Lithuanian league championship.”

The Rytas Vilnius player attracted attention from NBA scouts averaging 5.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in the 7DAYS EuroCup 2018-19 campaign. He has 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in LKL action as well.

“Competing against some of the best players and teams in Europe helped instill a tremendous amount of self-confidence in me and elevated my game. While the NBA draft simply wasn’t on my radar, I always believed in myself and my abilities on the court, and I am so excited to see what lies ahead for me” he mentioned commenting on his 2018-19 season.

Last year he was named MVP of the Adidas Next Generation Tournament after helping Rytas win the championship in Serbia. Afterwards he aided Lithuania advance to the FIBA U19 World Cup with 12.7 points and 45.2% beyond the arc in the European U18 Championship.

“I am looking forward to showing that I am more than just a 3-point shooter. I believe that, if given the opportunity, I can succeed in the pick-and-roll and be a playmaker. That being said, I am ready to accept whatever role my coaches want me to play” the young wing added.
