Former EuroLeague champion with CSKA Moscow (2006) and current Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach David Vanterpool is on the Phoenix Suns‘ radar as they search for the new head coach after firing Igor Kokoskov.
According to Shams Charania, the Suns will request permission to interview Vanterpool as well as the Philadelphia assistant Monty Williams – who also piqued Lakers’ interest.
Vanterpool has been the Blazers assistant since 2012 after his 22-year-long career during which he played across Europe, in China and briefly with the Washington Wizards.
