There hasn’t been a team to achieve this since the 1966 Celtics.

The Golden State Warriors advanced to the finals for the fifth time in a row after beating the Portland Trail Blazers with a 119-117 overtime victory in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals.

This marks a new record for modern NBA history, as this is the first time a team has made it to five straight Finals since the Boston Celtics did 10 consecutive times, from 1957 to 1966.

It wasn’t easy for the reigning champions, who overcame a double-digit deficit, though thanks to a 37-point performance of Stephen Curry, they were able to steal the victory in the end and sweep Blazers with 4-0.
