Zalgiris Kaunas forward and free-agent-to-be Aaron White said that he’s “close” to continuing his career with the NBA.

“I wish I could tell you ‘yes’ or ‘no’. I’m close but there’s no definite answer,” White answered after being asked if people are going to see his high-flying in the NBA one day, in an interview with Zalgiris TV. The 26-year-old player has been reported to be of interest to the Washington Wizards.

“I’m trying to figure out what I want to do,” White said. “What’s best for where I want to take my career. Obviously, I got my third child on the way so that’s an important factor. My wife’s happiness is an important factor. It’s something that we’ve been talking about like crazy this last couple of weeks. Something we don’t have a definite answer to, even ourselves.

“The NBA is a dream but I’m also realistic in terms of what’s most important for myself and for my family. So we are going to talk that through. Weigh our options and then go from there,” White added.

White becomes a free agent this summer after spending the two previous seasons playing in EuroLeague and the Lithuanian League with Zalgiris. He finished 2018-2019 with 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds in 24:54 over 34 games.

In 2017-2018, White helped Zalgiris advance to the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time since 1999. In his debut EuroLeague campaign, the American forward averaged 8.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 22:24.
