The 2019 NBA Draft media day was held on June 19, one day before the actual Draft, and the top prospects were available to the public. Among them, the 19-year-old Georgian center Goga Bitadze as well.
Bitadze got a lot of attention after a photo of his went viral. It shows Bitadze sitting all alone while to his right, Zion Williamson got swarmed by journalists.

However, the photo was taken after Bitadze’s media session was over and he did get a fair share of attention earlier.
Goga commented on the whole situation for Eurohoops later on noting that he isn’t at all bothered by it. In fact, he recognizes Zion as a great player and all of this just gives him extra motivation: “It just makes me more hungry and humble to see this guy get a lot of focus. I know he’s a great player, he’s probably the top player but that doesn’t bother me at all. I had people come and ask me questions so it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s all good and I’m really excited about this process”
