The Houston Rockets are trying to put themselves in the best position to acquire Jimmy Butler

The Rockets are offering Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, and PJ Tucker individually to teams who have the space to absorb salary, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe.

The Rockets want to present a package to the Sixers that would include the best available first-round pick acquired for any one of three players as part of a larger deal with Philadelphia for Butler, according to the same report.

Philadelphia has been privately expressing confidence around NBA that it can re-sign Butler and Tobias Harris, but Houston remains set on Butler and Sixers sign-and-trade scenario once free agency starts this Sunday.

Swiss center Clint Capela is a key part in Houston’s rotation as the starting big man of the team. He has four years, $66 million left on his contract,
