The Dallas Mavericks confirmed via press release that Boban Marjanovic was added to their roster ahead of the 2019-20 NBA season.

Per Mavs: The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed free agent center Boban Marjanović. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Marjanović (7-3, 290) is a four-year veteran who holds career averages of 6.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 9.8 minutes in 186 games (17 starts) with San Antonio, Detroit, the L.A. Clippers and Philadelphia. At last season’s trade deadline, Marjanović was dealt to Philadelphia where he averaged a career-high 8.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 13.9 minutes in 22 games with the Sixers before falling to the eventual World Champion Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Serbian center began his NBA journey when he signed a one-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs on July 17, 2015. After one year with the Spurs, he became a restricted free agent and was signed by the Detroit Pistons on July 12, 2016. In January of 2018, Marjanović was traded, along with Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley and future draft picks, to the Los Angeles Clippers in a blockbuster deal that sent Blake Griffin to Detroit. Marjanović and Harris were traded to Philadelphia on Feb. 6, 2019, where they finished out their 2018-19 campaign.

Marjanović played professionally in Serbia, Russia and Lithuania prior to the NBA and won championships in the Serbian League, Lithuanian League, Baltic League and Adriatic League. He was a three-time Serbian Super League Most Valuable Player (2013-15) and All-EuroLeague First Team in 2015.

The native of Boljevac, Serbia, Marjanović will wear No. 51 for the Mavericks.
