After helping Switzerland, Clint Capela aims to further up his game in the NBA.

It was a long summer for Clint Capela. The 25-year-old center did not play in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, but leaded Switzerland to the next round of the 2021 EuroBasket qualifiers. He discussed the subject opening the 2019-20 NBA regular season through the Houston Rockets’ 2019 Media Day, also warned opponents ahead of his sixth NBA campaign.

“I want to dominate even more on what I am doing,” mentioned Capela that already averages 12 points and 9.2 rebounds per NBA regular season affair through 295 career appearances, “Get more offensive rebounds, block shots, finishing harder on the rim. Being better on what I am doing.”

“I think I can really be the key,” he added, “Defensively, what I’m doing, bringing the energy, how I run down the court, set screens, bring pressure on the defense and open our shooters. A lot has to do with me and my energy and how I dominate.”

The 2018-19 season saw him average 16.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per regular season contest. He added 9.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per match in his fifth playoffs run.

“I had my first appearance with the Swiss national team since five years,” said Capela on his national team, “It was really great. We finished first in our group stage. We needed a win by 20 in our last game, we won by 24. Our crowd was crazy.”

The 25th pick of the 2014 draft took part in all four qualifying affairs. He notched 15 points, 11 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
