Things got heated between Philadelphia 76ers‘ Joel Embiid and Minessota Timberwolves‘ Karl-Anthony Towns on Wednesday night and physical combat of the two on the court resulted in the ejection of both from the game.
The reason for this scuffle has not been made clear and the two big men have a history of trash-talking, though the court looked more like a boxing ring.
Embiid attacked Towns with a choke and it took the intervention of team officials and players to end the conflict between the two men. Ben Simmons also rushed to separate them, holding Towns down, though he was deemed a “peacemaker” and was not ejected for his action.
