Saliou Niang is expected to commit to LSU on a NIL deal worth approximately $7 million, per Repubblica.
Virtus Bologna is set to receive a $500,000 buyout for the services of a forward.
Saliou Niang is a member of the Italian national team and played for Italy in the EuroBasket last year. In the EuroLeague, he averaged about 22 minutes, scoring around 7 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in a Virtus jersey.
He began his career at Fortitudo Bologna, then moved to Trento, and this was his first season in the EuroLeague. Niang was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 58th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Additionally, several EuroLeague players are close to moving to the NCAA, including Quinn Ellis and Jean Montero.
