Brice Dessert has been cleared to play for LSU during the 2026-27 college basketball season, according to Jon Rothstein.
Anadolu Efes will receive a $750,000 fee for the French center, who has only one season of NCAA eligibility, per Eurohoops sources.
He remains under contract with Efes for 2027-28 and is expected to return to Istanbul after his college season, making the arrangement almost like a one-year loan.
Dessert joins a frontline featuring Michael Ruzic and Kentucky transfer Mouhamed Dioubate as head coach Will Wade continues to build LSU’s roster. The Tigers will face Florida State in an exhibition game on Saturday.
Also, Virtus Bologna will also receive a $500,000 buyout for Saliou Niang, who has multiple years of NCAA eligibility remaining.
