Several players are being considered by Serbia national team head coach Igor Kokoskov, including Aleksej Pokusevski and Flip Petrusev, according to Mozzart Sport.

Pokusevski, 19, is coming off a productive debut season in the NBA putting up 8.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Petrusev, 21, left Gonzaga last summer and joined Mega Soccerbet signing his first professional contract. He averaged 23.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per ABA League match. He is expected to be selected in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft.

Kokoskov, 49, is considering both youngsters as serious candidates for the squad. Nikola Kalinic and Nemanja Nedovic are among other players expected to be invited, as noted. Both missed the cut for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, the previous major international tournament.

Serbia will host one of the four Olympic Qualifying Tournaments between June 29 and July 4 aiming to clinch an Olympic Games berth. The Dominican Republic and the Philippines shape the first-round opponents, while Puerto Rico, Italy, and Senegal make out Group B.
