Boban Marjanovic had 20 points and nine rebounds in 21:26 minutes as Serbia beat Mexico 81 – 77 in a friendly game that took place in Belgrade ahead of the Olympic Qualifiers.

It was Marjanovic’s top performance with the Serbian national team so far this summer. The Dallas Mavericks big man made all of his points with baskets, shooting 9-15 from the field and finished with 23 PIR.

Stefan Jovic contributed eight points, six assists and six rebounds for Serbia that was trailing for most of the first half until taking a lead near end of the second quarter. Mexi tied the score at 45 after the break but their opponents responded with a 15- 0 run and remained up ever since.

Orlando Mendez (18 points), Fabian Jaimes (14 points) and Paul Stoll (14 points) scored in double figures for Mexico.

In other Olympic Qualifiers preparation action, Croatia defeated Puerto Rico 74 – 59 in Split thanks to a balanced, team effort. Mario Bilan scored 15 points, Mario Hezonja added 13 points plus six assists while Ante Zizic had 11 points and five boards.

Gian Clavell scored 15 for Puerto Rico.

Michael Torres had 21 points and Victor Liz scored 19 as Puerto Rico prevailed over Russia 83 – 73 in Lithuania. Timofey Mozgov led the Russian side with 16 points.

Brazil outplayed Poland 85 – 79 behind Leonardo Meindl’s 23 points. Aleksander Balcerowski and Jacub Garbacz dropped 15 points apiece for Poland.
