Scola played his final game with the Argentinian national team in the eliminating loss to Australia in the Olympic Games quarterfinals. It was the fifth Olympic tournament for the 41-year-old player, who was the last remaining international active member from Argentina’s “Golden Generation” of Manu Ginobli, Fabricio Oberto and Andres Nocioni, among others.

When Argentina coach Sergio Hernandez called Scola to the bench near the end of the game, he received a standing ovation by players of both his own team and Australia.
