With Serbia facing the USA in the group phase of the Paris 2024 Olympics, the men’s basketball tournament is expected once more to be the hottest ticket of the games.
The draw didn’t disappoint, since the 12 teams, four of them to be decided in the four Olympic qualifying tournaments just days before the Olympics, are divided into three groups.
With such limitations, it was obvious that some big games were coming early and nothing seemed to be bigger than the game between the Serbs and Team USA in Group C, which also includes South Sudan and the winner of the Qualifiers in Puerto Rico.
Group A can be already considered the “Group of Death”. It includes Canada, Australia, and the winners of the qualifiers in Spain and Greece, with Spain, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece, and Luka Doncic’s Slovenia being the favorites to make it to Paris.
In Group B, the hosts France will face the FIBA World Cup champions Germany, Japan and the winner of the qualifying tournament in Latvia.

In the women’s draw, everyone is focused on Group B which includes two medal contenders in France, Australia, plus Canada, and Nigeria.
