Jamon Gordon has learned his lesson from the time that Siena eliminated Olympiacos and explains to Eurohoops.net that it’s too early for Efes to think about London and gives great credit to his teammate Jordan Farmar

Jordan Farmar missed (a rare in Euroleague) triple double figure for a rebound and two assists, but he wasn’t the only Efes’ player with a “full” statistics sheet. In Jamon Gordon’s line, someone could see that besides his 13 points, he had 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block. It was another “silent” but productive night, for the former player of Olympiacos and Marousi (photographed with his former teammate Kostas Papanikolaou).

“Some times when the other team is making shots, there is nothing you can do”, he explained to Eurohoops.net as he wanted to emphasize on the excellent team performance that Efes had against Olympiacos. “I wouldn’t say they just played bad, we were making shots and everything was falling for us. Jordan played great and others were good. We weren’t playing so good coming to this game. It is definitely a big win and it’s something that we can build off and hopefully get another win next week against Cedevita”.

– It is something that gives you confidence for the rest of the season; Obviously Efes has a goal of reaching the Final Four?

“Everybody is skipping the top 8 and say that we should reach the Final Four. I know from my experience with Olympiacos (against Siena in 2011), that top 8 is not so friendly to everybody. So first we gotta go to Top 16 and then to the quarterfinals. When we manage to do this, then we’ll think about London. We won a great game against Olympiacos but who knows what’s gonna happen next week. We gotta come out and play hard every night”.

– Farmar almost had a triple double, this shows how great of a player he is;

“Absolutely. I didn’t know it, until we went to the locker room and saw the stats. He played great, he got into a roll and he was making shots. When this happens, everything opens up for us. I’m happy for him, he is a different player, from Israel playing to the Turkish league and he’ll give as big help the whole season”.

– Where do you think that Olympiacos has to improve;

“You can’t judge Olympiacos from the game against us. They are a great team. Everybody just wasn’t hitting shots against our defense. I think next week, they will get a win in their home court and they’ll be fine. I don’t think they aren’t rolling, it just happened. When a team is making so many shots, there is nothing you can do. They’ll be good”.
