Tamir Blatt and John Holland stepped up for Hapoel Jerusalem and handed their squad a narrow 93-86 win against Maccabi Rishon LeZion in the Israeli League.
Tamir Blatt put on a double-double with 21 points and ten assists while Holland added 20 points on 60% from the field. Emanuel Terry scored 12 and James Feldeine ten points.
For Rishon, D’Angelo Harrison had a strong game with 22 points and eight boards in addition to Zach Hankins’ 21 and Alex Hamilton’s 15 points. Darryl Monroe logged 12 points and 11 boards.
Rishon managed to bounce back from a ten-point deficit in the first quarter (25-15) and make it a close game until the end but since a tie at 80 with five minutes left, Hapoel slowly took over the flow of the match and closed it in their favor with a 13-6 run.
Hapoel improved to 19-4 and is behind Maccabi Tel Aviv (20-2) in the Winners Stage Group while Rishon follows with 13-10 and Hapoel Holon with 12-10.
