Maccabi Tel Aviv star guard Scottie Wilbekin was fined with the sum of 25,000 Israeli shekels (around 6,397 euros) for throwing a battle at Maccabi Rishon Lezion fans two weeks ago following the loss of his team in an Israeli Winner League game between the two sides.
If Wilbekin commits a similar act he will be suspended from the league for one year while paying another fine of the same amount for repeated offense.
Per Walla, Wilbekin said that he committed the act after he was provoked by the fans and that he was also under great pressure as a result of the isolation that league players have to cope with during the remainder of the season.
