NBA prospect Yam Madar scored a game-high 22 points as Hapoel Tel Aviv beat archrival Maccabi Tel Aviv 82 – 72 in Game 2 of the Israeli Winner League quarterfinals to tie the best-of-three series.

Madar shot 7-11 2-pointers, 1-5 triples, and 5-5 from the line. He also had six assists, five rebounds and just one turnover in the 32 minutes he spent on the floor.

Tomer Ginat added 21 points and seven rebounds for Hapoel that even took an 18-point lead, 76 – 58 in the mid of the fourth period, courtesy of a basket by Madar. Maccabi just reduced that deficit in the remainder of the match.

Angelo Caloiaro (14 points, six rebounds) and Tyler Dorsey (13 points, nine rebounds) stood out from Maccabi while Deni Avdija remained scoreless (0/3 shots) in the 22 minutes he played. The “Yellows” are hosting the decisive Game 3 Thursday (23/7).
