The third week of action in the LKL started with two home wins

Zalgiris fell victim of an upset at home just before the start of the EuroLeague season.

Zalgiris – Lietkabelis 61-72

Zalgiris suffered its first loss this season early on, to Lietkabelis which logged its first win after starting 0-2. The third quarter was crucial as Lietkabelis banked seven threes to win it 29-11 while Zalgiris scored a total of 25 points in the second half.

Kyle Vinales led the way with 24 points on 5-9 from deep while Paulius Valinskas added 13 and Margiris Normantas ten points.

For Zalgiris, Augustine Rubit scored 11 in addition to Joffrey Lauvergne’s ten points.

Siauliai – Dzukija 71-102

Dzukija’s squad was on fire with 15-27 from the three-point range as they logged a convincing win against Siauliai, led by Matas Jucikas who banked 25 points on 9-13 shooting.

Paulius Danisevicius helped with 16 and Kristupas Zemaitis with 14 points.  On the other side, Elvar Mar Fridriksson scored 15 and Ryan Anderson 14 points.

Rytas Vilnius – Pieno Zvaigzdes 106-82

Andrew Goudelock coming from the bench, Lukas Uleckas, and Kristjan Kitsing with 18 points each led a balanced offensive effort for Rytas in the easy 106-82 win over Pieno. Arnas Butkevicius added 16 points and Martynas Echodas with 13 points and 10 rebounds added a double-double.

Andreja Milutinovic scored 18 points for the losing side which was trailing in score from the first minute until the final buzzer.

Juventus – CBet 89-84 (78-78)

Ignas Vaitkus scored 23 points and the go-ahead basket in overtime, veteran Martynas Gecevicius added 15 and Bryant Crawford sealed the deal with 11 points as Juventus needed overtime in order to beat CBet.

Dominykas Domarkas had 21 points, while Marquis Wright and Regimantas Miniotas with 17 points tried their best for the road win, but ultimately CBet missed three straight shots at the end of overtime.

Neptunas Klaipeda – Nevezis 76 – 70

Neptunas let its defense do the trick, allowing 29 points in the second half to get the win over Nevezis. Martynas Mazeika had 19 points and Dziugas Slavinskas added 12 points plus nine rebounds for the hosts.

Panagiotis Kalaitzakis (15 points) and Vaidas Kariniauskas (14 points, eight assists) led Nevezis.
