Third loss in a row for Rytas Vilnius in the Lithuanian league

A flurry of postponed contests disrupted the Lithuanian LKL with action limited the past couple of weeks. Rytas Vilnius failed in two attempts to prevail on the road generating Zalgiris Kaunas the opportunity for further separation on top of the standings.

Nevezis – Rytas Vilnius 100-94

Nevezis handed Rytas its second defeat into the new LKL season, paced behind a 22-point performance by Domantas Vilys. Vaidas Čepukaitis and Vaidas Karinauskas both added 18 points each for the winning side.

Christopher Mccullough paced Rytas with 19 points, as Lukas Uleckas and Kristjan Kitsing both had 17 points.

Pieno Zvaigzdes – Prienai 104 – 89 

Karolis Giedraitis (19 points), Branko Mirkovich (18 points, six assists) and Andreja Milutinovic (16 points) led the charge for Pieno in the offensive show during the win over Prienai. Dominykas Domarkas and Marquis Wright stood out from Prienai with 22 and 21 points respectively.

Pieno Zvaigzdes – Rytas Vilnius 82-79

Mainly responsible for the third straight win and third consecutive loss for opposing sides was Tomas Lekunas registering 29 points behind 7/13 field goals. He also pulled down nine rebounds.

For Rytas, Andrew Goudelock scored 18 points and Martynas Echodas 16.

Dzukija – Nevezis 80-74

Kristupas Zemaitis produced 20 points and Giedrius Staniulis 15 for the second win of the season.

Vaidas Kariniauskas went for 22 points but ended up on the wrong side of the result.

Siauliai – Neptunas 93-88

After seven games without success, Siauliai finally got its first win this season and it was in no small part thanks to Elvar Fridriksson who logged a double-double with 21 points and 12 assists.

Andy van Vliet added 18 on perfect shooting while for Neptunas, Martynas Mazeika scored 25 and Tadas Pazera 14 points.

CBet – Zalgiris 72-96

Lukas Lekavicius banked 22 points for the winning side while missing only a single shot. Martinas Geben scored 12 and Stephen Vasturia 11 points

On the other side, Regimantas Miniiotas had 20 and Tom Digbeu 12 points.
