Maccabi Tel Aviv rode the wave of a brilliant first half to beat Maccabi Rishon 92 – 72 in the second semifinal of the Israeli Winner Cup and advance to the title game. The “Yellows” will face defending champion Hapoel Holon after the later’s win over now-previous Cup holder Hapoel Jerusalem.

Scottie Wilbekin led Maccabi with 22 points on 5-10 3-pointers plus seven assists. Ante Zizic added 16 points and 10 rebounds while Tyler Dorsey had 16 points before his ejection with two unsportsmanlike fouls late in the match.

Isaiah Taylor dropped 17 points for Rishon and Akil Mitchell had 14 points and six rebounds. Their team fell behind 58 – 33 at the break, being unable to stop their opponents’ efficient offense.

Rishon improved in the third period to enter the final stretch down 73 – 59 but Maccabi Tel Aviv turned the switch on once more to avoid any troubles down the stretch.
