Zalgiris Kaunas improved to a 32-3 record in the Lithuanian League after a convincing 93-63 win over Pineo zvaigzdes which stayed at the eighth spot with 12-24.
Marius Grigonis led Zalgiris‘ effort as the champions reached the 30-point margin already by the third quarter (62-32) and continued on to the win.
Zalgiris banked in a total of 16 threes and stole the ball ten times while forcing a total of 17 turnovers from Pieno which were more than enough to decide the outcome.
Grigonis scored 20 points on 7-14 shooting including 4-8 from long range in slightly over 20 minutes while Lukas Lekavicius added 14 and Thomas Walkup ten points.
On the opposing side, Edgaras Želionis scored 15 in addition to Paulius Petrilevičius’ 13 and Yannick Franke’s ten points.
