Zalgiris Kaunas imposed its rule in Game 1 against Rytas.

Joffrey Lauvergne had 18 points and 10 rebounds as Zalgiris Kaunas defeated Rytas Vilnius 85 – 70 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series of the Lithuanian League Finals.

After a balanced first quarter (23-23), Zalgiris began to gain the upper hand and closed halftime with a 51 – 35 advantage. Their opponents tried to put on a reaction after a break but it wasn’t enough.

Ivan Buva scored 22 points and five rebounds to lead the effort from the Vilnius side while Drew Goudelock contributed 17 points.

Apart from Lauvergne, Lukas Lekavicius scored 12 for Zalgiris. Aug Rubit finished with 10 points plus five rebounds and Martinas Geben had 10 points.
