Rytas Vilnius stopped Zalgiris‘ perfect 8-0 streak in the Lithuanian League on Sunday evening, as they emerged with an 84-75 win in Kaunas.

Ivan Buva signed off with 21 points as Rytas kept their hosts at just 8 points in the second period and since managed to retain a double-digit lead to break Zalgiris‘ winning streak. Mindaugas Girdziunas also added up 21 points for the visitors and Lukas Uleckas had 11.

Zalgiris, whose course in the domestic league has been the exact opposite than in the EuroLeague so far in the season, picked up 23 points by Lukas Lekavicius who tried to save the day for his team with a late surge, while Josh Nebo scored 12 points, followed by Mantas Kalnietis and Arturas Milaknis who both added 8 points each.
