Five players scored in double figures for Maccabi Tel Aviv as the Yellows beat top-placed Hapoel Jerusalem 83 – 78 on the road in the second Israeli Winner League game of 2022. It was a particularly important result for a Maccabi team that was coming off eight straight losses in EuroLeague plus a domestic defeat to rival Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Derrick Williams and John Dibartolomeo led an overall quite balanced Maccabi offense with 17 and 14 points respectively. Oz Blayzer added 11 points and seven rebounds, Ante Zizic had 13 points before exiting the game with a leg injury in the second half and Jake Cohen scored 11.

Jalen Adams posted game-highs 26 points and five assists for Hapoel Jerusalem. Retin Obasohan dropped 14 points, Suleiman Braimoh posted 12 points plus 10 rebounds and Adam Ariel had 10 points.

Thanks to this win, Maccabi improved to 8-4 and approached Hapoel, now 9 – 3, in the first place by one win.
