Maccabi Tel Aviv couldn’t built on the win over Hapoel and got back to a losing mode.

Bnei Herzeliya shut down Maccabi Tel Aviv 71 – 59 and took over the second place of the Israeli Winner League standings from the Yellows. Maccabi, that was coming off a big road win over Hapoel Jerusalem, suffered its eighth loss over the last 30 days in both EuroLeague and Israel.

Andy Van Vliet led Herzeliya with a game-high 21 points. Chris Babb dropped 16 points while Chinanu Onuaku posted 14 points plus 11 rebounds.

Scottie Wilbekin (13 points on 4-15 shots) and Jalen Reynolds (11 points, eight rebounds) scored in double figures from Maccabi. Their team struggled to hit a shot from the perimeter, finishing with 5-26 3-pointers, while also committing double the turnovers of the opposing side (16 vs. eight).

Herzeliya is now 8-4 while Maccabi dropped to 8-5.
