Maccabi used the Scottie Wilbekin weapon and some strong rebounding to overcome Hapoel.

Scottie Wilbekin scored 31 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists as Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated archrival Hapoel Tel Aviv 100 – 88 at home in Game 1 of the Israeli Winner League quarterfinals. The Yellows overpowered their opponents 25 – 16 in the final period to get the win.

Keenan Evans contributed 18 points plus seven assists to Maccabi‘s win while Derrick Williams posted 14 points plus five rebounds. Their team was particularly dominant on the boards with 45 against Hapoel’s 30, including 18 offensive rebounds.

Bar Timor had 18 points, James Young scored 17 and JP Totoko finished with 16 points plus six rebounds for Hapoel that will look to tie the series Sunday (15/5) in the same arena.
