Tyrus McGee scored 23 points and Joe Ragland added 18 points, nine assists plus six rebounds as Hapoel Holon beat Bnei Herzilya 78 – 71 on the road to take a 1-0 lead in the Israeli Winner League Finals.
Chinanu Onuaku’s strong double-double (18 points, 20 rebounds) wasn’t enough for Herzilya that fell apart in the last lap of the game.
Holon dominated the final period 24 – 13 to get the win. Herzilya had come back from a 33 – 39 halftime deficit to lead 58 – 54 in the beginning of the fourth quarter but their opponents had the final say.
The difference between the two sides was vast especially on the 3-pointers, with Herzilya shooting 3-24 and Holon finishing with 14-36 from beyond the arc.
