From strength to strength down the stretch of the 2022-23 campaign, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv draws 11th win in a row across all competitions

Finishing up the initial stage of Israel’s Winner League Regular Season in style, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv secured the win, 88-74, against Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem Sunday.

Lorenzo Brown was the top performer for the team coached by Oded Kattash in Round 22 of the domestic league, the last action before the 12 teams split into two even groups and with five additional games determine the final standings of the Regular Season. The North Carolina State product registered 18 points, three assists, three rebounds, and one steal lasting 20 minutes in Pais Arena.

Jake Cohen and Yiftach Ziv chipped in 12 points apiece for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regulars. Darrun Hilliard and Suleiman Braimoh were ruled out along with Jalen Adams (shoulder), Austin Hollins (knee), and Alex Poythress (hand).

On the losing end, Brandon Brown ended up with 15 points. Basketball Champions League March MVP Zach Hankins went for 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and one assist. Both Speedy Smith and Levi Randolph rested ahead of the BCL Playoffs best-of-three series Game 1 opposite AEK coming up on Tuesday.

The Yellows made it 11 consecutive wins between domestic and continental competitions and went up to 19-3 in the 2022-23 edition of Winner League. The Jerusalem outfit fell to 15-7 with a 14-game winning streak, including capturing the Migdal State Cup in February, snapped.
