Zalgiris on the brink of the LKL finals after a big comeback vs Lietkabelis

Zalgiris defeated Lietkabelis for the second time in best-of-five semifinal series and will have a chance to advance to the finals in Kaunas

Though it was a lot tougher than at home, Zalgiris Kaunas prevailed over 7bet Lietkabelis 83-86 in Panevezys in Game 2 of the Betsafe LKL semifinals and is now one win away from the finals.

Tomas Dimsa was the top scorer of the Kazys Maksvytis team with 15 points, while Edgaras Ulanovas added 14 with five rebounds. Lukas Lekavicius followed with 12 points, while Laurynas Birutis finished the match with 10 points and six boards.

Achille Polonara missed the match due to an injury suffered in the first game with Lietkabelis and is unlikely to return to action this season

Kristian Kullamae led the hosts with 18 points, Gediminas Orelik added 13, while Jamel Morris and Mantas Rubstavicius scored ten each.

Lietkabelis had a 16-point lead in the third quarter and eight in the final, but Zalgiris turned the score around in the final minutes and won the match.

Zalgiris is now on the verge of meeting Rytas in the finals since the Vilnius team also leads 2-0 over CBet Jonava in the other semifinal series.
